Federation of Islington Tenant Management Organisations
(FITMO) was established at Islington Town Hall on June 1st 2006. FITMO's Constitution was formally adopted on August 2nd
See Islington Gazette August 10th 2006

The formation meeting discussed the following issues:
1. Our agreement is with LBI not HFI
2. We are managers of housing stock just as and same as HFI
3. We have no direct contact with the contractual partner: LBI
4. HFI as with other ALMO's are in 'competition' with TMO's to get stars for managing stock: ODPM
5. The review of
HFI and its contract with Gov' is in 2010. (They want to shine the brightest in the sky)
6. HFI / ALMO's want to increase their stock as much as possible for future asset base in raising capital and funding.
7. Strict monitoring, targets, time scales, and inspections may have another motives rather than customer service and leaseholder inquires.
8. We must look at our management agreements to see what we can and cannot do and what HFI/LBI can do, with us, to us, and for us.
9. HFI does not have the contractual right to change, modify, impose, anything as our contractual relationship is with LBI.

Following a general sharing of experiences of TMOs since Homes for Islington took over management of Islington Council's housing stock, the Federation was formed.
