FITMO's comment on Prime Minister's goal
FITMO whole heartily support the Prime Minister's goal for empowering local communities and supporting the voluntary sector. FITMO would however ask...
  • Year on year cuts to TMO allowances
  • No meaningful consultation with our residents, elected representatives, or the TMO on major works.
  • Breach notices based on circumspect monitoring.
  • Parking systems that favour Homes for Islington's contractors over ours on our managed estates.
  • Ignoring the TMO's right to be consulted on tenancy variations for our members.
  • Massive leaseholder bills exacerbated by framework contracting and previous neglect.
  • You do not build communities by neglecting properties, putting homeowners in massive debt, ignoring democratic
  • processes and underfunding local organisations. What you build is resentment!

Where does Islington Councils letter threatening to close Tenant managed Co-ops fit into this strategy.?
LETTER FROM TONY BLAIR TO RUTH KELLY

Empowerment is not just words and electoral rhetoric, it is about positive action to enable local communities to thrive and grow. It starts at local level..with the local authority. When they understand what it means we all might get somewhere!
